Even though I specialize in loc care, I try my best to find great information for those of you who prefer to wear your hair natural without having locs. Below is a good article with tips on how to grow healthy and sometimes long natural black hair. The author includes a recipe you can make at home to give your hair proper moisture as well. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Peace 🙂

How to Care for Long, Loose Black Natural Hair
Black hair can grow long with proper maintenance. Black hair comes in several textures–straight, wavy, kinky, spiral curls and tiny coils. Natural black hair can grow long with proper maintenance. Natural curly black hair is longer than it appears; the curlier the hair, the more hair shrinkage, making it appear that the hair grows more slowly than straighter hair. Strengthen natural black hair by choosing gentle methods that protect hair and promote hair growth.
Add moisture to black natural hair before styling. Style hair while it is slightly damp. There are several spray on moisturizers available for purchase or a homemade moisturizer can be used. Buy an 8-oz spray bottle and add 3 oz of distilled water to the bottle; 1 oz of conditioner (choose a natural conditioner that is alcohol free); and 0.5 oz of jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, or sweet almond oil. Shake it well before using it. Hair moisturizers help reduce hair damage. Spray them lightly on dry hair and style as desired.
