Rasta inmates spend decade in isolation for dreadlock hair

You all have got to read this article ! It’s about a prison where the inmates are put in isolation based on their decision NOT to cut their locs.  Apparently this is is a common law even though it’s not on the books as a federal law.  It’s a law that the inmates have sued over, but not successfully in most cases.  It mostly applied to the rastafarians in this particular place, but the article also makes mention of a Native American instance as well. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Peace.

  1. This is so sad . I could not imagine being isolated like that. But it tells you have to have strong mind and will. Im glad he is sticking to his faith. I find it crazy how rapest and child molester get out jail or get probation so easy. But a person who has already spent half of his life in jail can not get paroled. I believe people can change over time given the chance.

  2. wow this is crazy. Let some christian person get isolated for their belief and see how big the story blows up…

  3. One of the saddest parts of this story is the ignorant comments posted afterwards. People really need in this day and age to be more educated about issues before they make dumb comments. I mean oh please “Rasters in the U.S. hate white people especally law enforcement.” Are people serious? I’m not from the U.S. and that still affects me. Discrimination in any form is just that DISCRIMINATION!
